Fresh Hope's Bandawa school can only be reached on foot after a 3 hour walk through the bush and a wade through a slow moving swamp river. The school provides primary education for 65 children from Bandawa and surrounding villages where these children would not otherwise go school as there is no school within walking distance. We work in partnership with the village elders where they provide the land and the mud and stick structure and sponsors donate towards the zinc roof, boards for the doors and windows, tables and benches and the teacher salaries. Sadly our aging church in the village was demolished by a falling tree a few months ago. The village have already cleared some land next to the school where again they build the structure and we provide the zinc roof and doors. This church project is up for adoption so if you are interested in getting your own church involved in tangiable mission then please get in contact with us. As our relationship with the village has matured so has the trust, they haveĀ now granted us 4.5 acres of land adjacent to the school for development. |
